I have never cooked  turkey apart from Christmas dinner (once!) in my life but some turkey mince  caught my eye when i was doing the shopping so i whizzed up these burgers this evening and i surprised myself how tasty they are. I love a hearty slow cooked stew in the winter months. This is my version of Delia Smith’s recipe that i have been making for years. I can’t find the exact recipe online to link it but the original recipe is in the Complete Cookery course book.

It’s one that kids will eat too which is an added bonus. Serve with baked potato or mash and steamed broccoli and you have a great nutritious meal. This freezes really well  too. I often serve this when friends and family come over for dinner and it always goes down well.  Continue reading →

Secret pasta sauce for vegetable averse kids

This is an easy nutritious pasta sauce that fussy toddlers and babies alike enjoy. It’s a great way to get veggies into them without them realising it. I make a batch of it and freeze it in little containers ready to defrost quickly in the microwave. Serve with pasta and you have a healthy dinner for them in the time it takes to make the pasta.
