Mid-term break is almost upon us and i cannot wait. It is my first year doing the school run and not being a morning person i find it chaotic and stressful. I am very much looking forward to a week break from the morning time chaos and getting to plan some days out with my three small boys aged 5, 3 and 6 months.
Here are a few ideas of things of do in and around Dublin during the mid-term break.
Cinema
A good idea for cold and rainy mornings over the mid-term, Movies at Dundrum and Swords have kids clubs on everyday over the break. There is always a great selection of kids movies to choose from for children of all ages. Ticket price is just €3.50 for a 2D movie and €4.30 for a 3D movie and Kids Combos are available from €3.80. See here for Dundrum listings and here Swords listings this weekend.
National Museum of Ireland
From Viking tours, musical workshops to 20,000 year old crocodile poop! There is something for children of all ages at the four National Museum of Ireland sites. Click here for their mid-term events.
Aquazone @ The National Aquatic Centre
Tire them out, that’s what i say! A day out to Aquazone is a great way to burn off energy and keep them active no matter what the weather. The indoor water park is open all through mid-term everyday from 10am – 6pm.
Dublin Zoo
Although it might be a little chilly this time of year, a day out at the Zoo is always a crowd-pleaser. Dublin Zoo is open this month every morning at 9:30 and can be quite busy during school holidays so i recommend you arrive early and wrap up warm.
Jumpzone
The birthday party destination of choice for the over fives, Jumpzone in Sandyford is great activity for the whole family. Make sure to book in advance as it is a popular choice.
Enjoy the break,
